Did you know: The laurel leave is from the Mediterranean basin, and the largest producer is Turkey. The laurel leaf is the dry leaf of the laurel tree, and the quality of spice is given by the very strongly flavoured taste, slightly minty and sour.
Instructions for use: It is used to aromatize the soups, borschts, bean foods, potatoes and cabbage, stews, steaks (being an ingredient of spice mixtures for steaks), wild game meats, spaghetti sauces. It is used for marinading meats, fish and mushrooms, as well as for seasoning of winter canned products (pickles, cauliflower, etc). The laurel leaves are taken out from the food before being served because, if it is maintained for long time, it gives the food a sour taste.
